HUNTERSVILLE – Beginning February 22 the Hope House Foundation with five other local nonprofit organizations will be spotlighted in the second A Steak in our Community, Philanthropy Week at Morton’s. Each nonprofit will reap a share of the proceeds of the Uptown restaurant for the week.

“Our successful partnerships in our first Philanthropy Week last October enabled us to raise over $5,000 for local charities,” says Shanna Cochrane, GM at Morton’s The Steakhouse. “We hope to raise even more money and awareness this winter as we support Hope House and the other local nonprofits with a week of great steak, fine wine and the spirit of generosity. Together we’ll dine…and make a difference!”

Hope House Foundation begins this week on Monday February 22. Hope House is a transitional home in Huntersville for homeless women and children in the Lake Norman area providing shelter, services and support for them to become self-sufficient. Joining Hope House in the line-up of worthy nonprofit recipients for the week are the Young Affiliates of the Mint Museum, Time Out Youth, Charlotte Mecklenburg Public Library, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation- Charlotte Chapter, and Ace and TJs Grin Kids.

"Our dedicated staff here at Morton's is incredibly committed to giving back to the greater Charlotte community," says Krista Manns, Morton's sales and marketing manager. "With most staff working late hours, it's hard to participate in many charitable events. As a result, we created Philanthropy Week as a way for the Morton's staff to support local causes."

A sumptuous three-course meal will be available to diners during the week for $75; with $25 of each dinner donated to that evening’s designated charity. In addition, 10% of all wine sales will be donated to the night's featured organization. Reservations for the evening of choice are recommended and can be made by calling 704-333-2602 or visiting www.mortons.com/charlotte.

Morton’s The Steakhouse Uptown is located at 227 West Trade Street. Valet parking is available. Dinner is served from 5:30 p.m. until 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sundays.
